i got a few question here about the same thing. 5 months ago i had a lump on the left cheek in line wit the bottom of my nose, thinking it was a pimple I have tried to pop it. Without luck it wouldn't pop. i even tried poking a hole in it to try to break open so i could drain it a little bit of blood then it immediately closed up. the lump turned a black and blue look and became hard in the center and soft around the exterior of it. I went to my primary doctor since i had a bump on the back of my head that was hot and always feeling sore. i could feel the sore throbbing. He didn't actually know what it was but snipped it to try to get the sore to open up and drain he gave me bactrum ds it brought the sores down a bit but not completely. Over the time i kept poking at the one on face since i was tired of looking at it. i felt like i had Chinese Rot(doesn't exist but how i feel it looks like.) Unfortunately it spread to my chmd web doctor/physicianest, back one arm and the other shoulder and also more on my face. since i have 30-40 of these on my upper chest, upper back, right arm, left shoulder, and my neck ears and forehead as well as both of my cheeks. these lumps are mostly soft and all of them are purple. Most of them do not hurt but one or two felt sore and still does. i then turned to a dermatologist and she said they were cysts. she gave me an antibiotic and an ointment i was prescribed a tetracycline i have been taking it for almost 2 weeks now. within a week of me taking the medicine the area around all the lumps were starting to show a yellowing tint around the lumps and my face right under my eyes. i called the doctor and questioned it since i went on webmd.com to look up the antibiotic and read more about what i actually was taking. it listed it as a side effect and for me to call my physician. i spoke to a medical liason and told her what was going on, amd web doctor/physiciannd asked what should i do? she told me to continue to take it not knowing the side effects and i told her web md told me to call u back since it listed it as a serious side effect. The medicine was making the lumps go down but only a few at a time. My face also swelled a good centimeter right under my eyes, and also the top of my nose. i called for an appointment for my PCP cant get one til next month but ordered me a script for bloodwork. i got the bloodwork done at the hospitol. Since i looked bad they wanted to admit me for more tests but wouldnt tell me why until i was signing my release papers. i havent taken the medicine since and the yellowing has went disappeared. What should i do and does anyone kno what these lumps are?
Herpes.
It is possible that it is a cyst. they turn black and blue and they won't pop, and when they do, they only bleed.
H1, facial herpes... Very common. Ask your dr.
