i have a few questions.
1, CONSTIPATION
-how long will it last?
-does it give you cramps, if so where?
-and when should it start?
CRAMPING
-how bad can pregnancy cramping get in early weeks of pregnancy?
-where does it normally cramp? (im getting it really achy, kind of behind my belly button/uterus area)
- how long can it last?
-what should it feel like?
hope you can answer these questions
thanks :)
There is no definite time for the constipation. If you eat a lot of fiber, it should help prevent it. I've had it on and off throughout my pregnancy, but it was never painful.
My cramps throughout my pregnancy have felt like mild period cramps. There is not telling how long it will last or when you will feel like that. It's different for everyone. However, during these last few weeks they have been more painful because the baby is head down and I'm preparing for labor. The only time I would be too concerned and call the doctor is if the cramping is preventing you from sleeping or there is blood with it. I mean red blood, not light brown or pink spotting.
Hope that helps. Good luck!
ok well i had constipation up until my third trimester..it was terrible..it felt like period cramps almost in my lower abdomen..i am now 38 weeks and i go to the bathroom A LOT! as for the crearly pregnancy questionsamping i never really had any cramping..ihad sharp pains in my lower abdomen, which they call round ligament pain..and here in the last week i have had some slight cramping with my BH contractions..but other than that no real cramping..good luck hun and congrats!

gl luck all the best
Hi! Congrats on pregnancy.
I do sympathise, as I suffered awfully from constipation in my first trimister.
Most likely it is this that is making your abdomen hurt. Don't worry about the cramps unless you see bleeding or they get really bad.
I think a bit of cramping is normal, but if it does get more violent, check up with your doctor just for reassurance.
I found lots of water and bran sprinkled on cereal to be good in getting the bowels moving. I was paranoid about laxatives as I'd had a miscarriage, so I didn't take any. Oranges, too, as long as they don't make your stomach too acid. Anything that has fibre in it, like wholemeaearly pregnancy questionsl bread with those grain bits in, and carrots. I swear by liqourice, too! Also cocoanut. Anything to (sorry TMD) make the stools bulky gets them moving.
I hope this helps and it sorts itself out quickly.
Best of luck
I have never experienced cramps because of constipation, however i guess it lasts long if you don't do anything about it (for example drink plenty of water etc) I noticed my constipation started at the beginning of the third trimester, but drink plenty of water and it'll help you. The cramps!! painful stuff, i had side cramps in my pelvis area in the middle of 2nd trimester. They were painful and lasted up to one hour. I couldn't move when i had these cramps and i was limping around for about 3 weeks. I don't know if it was the end of cramping or i was getting used to it but i lied on the opposite side that the cramp was on and it seemed to disappear faster. But you'll definitely know when you have a cramp they are very very painful. Towards the third trimester you start getting cramps in your legs and feet not sure whats the cause but during this time learn to always put your feet up and relax, your body is working very hard getting ready for birth.
Good luck and congrats in your pregnancy
