hotspot shield proxyHow the system of Hotspot shield proxy sofware works can the internet service provider can find this?

Skip proxies and Hotspot Shield. They both have serious issues.

Get a personal VPN which has total encryption of your entire connection. There is no chance of data leaking out via other ports or applications with the personal VPN since it takes the place of your network card and everything passes through it.

I've used it for years without a problem.
I don't use the Hotspot Shield Proxy software. However, I quickly googled it and know how it works. You turn on your computer, open your internet browser, type in the URL of the website you want to go to then press "enter." Typically, this request for a web page travels from your computer, to your modem, to your ISP, to the ISP of the requested web site, to the server on which the website is located. (I've shortened this route of travel to keep it simple.) Communtications between you and the website travel back and forth along this route. When you connect to the web site, your IP address (which identifies you) is reported to that web site. All data that travels hotspot shield proxyback and forth can be intercepted and read if someone really wants to. Your ISP can see everything, too.

Hotspot Shield Proxy software attempts to prevent anyone (including ISPs) from tracing who you are from your IP address, or from seeing your data. They hide your IP address from the web sites you visit by changing the usual route of data travel (as mentioned above) to this: your computer, to your modem, to your ISP, TO A HOTSPOT SHIELD PROXY SERVER, to the ISP of the requested web site, to the server on which the website is located. When your web page request reaches the Hotspot Shield Proxy Server, it essentially scrubs away your real IP address information, then adds a new false IP address to it before forwarding the request to the desired web site.
They also use encryption to protect your privacy in a couple of ways. By encrypting the data between your computer and the proxy server, your ISP doesn't know what you are sending or receiving, just that you are. Also, if you are wirelessly connected to the intehotspot shield proxyrnet in a public place, this encryption prevents anyone else around you from using packet sniffing software to look at your data.
There is a new technology that all ISP's may be utilizing soon to assist the police in catching pedofiles. This technology partially breaks the encryption, just enough to identify the hash data of image and video files. If your ISP has decided to implement this, and you are using a proxy to send illegal materials over the internet, then your days are numbered.
I'm not saying you are using a proxy for this purpose, because I don't even know you. If so, maybe you should get some professional help, instead.

If you want to know if your IP address is really being changed, do this:

1) Click on this link:

2) Look about half way down the webpage. It will tell you the IP address that is being reported to them.

Hope this was helpful.
Hotspot Shield hides your real IP from the rest of the world. Use it to surf anonymously on the internet.
